PC Music's A. G. Cook Gets Caroline Polachek for New Song "Lifeline"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 28, 2019

PC Music boss A. G. Cook is back with a new song called "Lifeline."

It marks the producer's first new solo track since 2016's "Superstar," though he does get an assist from Caroline Polachek on vocals.

"The melody at the core of 'Lifeline' is this repetitive, insistent and slightly selfish earworm that I've been living with for too long now," Cook said in a statement. "In the end, the easiest way to deal with it was to leave it in a warm petri dish and let it do its own thing. A few years later I found myself with this young, unstable song, and somehow nurtured it to become a power ballad. The track has a life of its own, but like most children and laboratory experiments, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

In addition to working on Polachek's forthcoming solo album, Cook also worked with Charli XCX on her upcoming album Charli, which arrives on September 13 via Atlantic Records.
