Paul Weller Announces 'Sonik Kicks' LP, Gets Noel Gallagher and Blur's Graham Coxon to Guest

Paul Weller's previous bands the Jam and the Style Council broke up way back in the '80s, but that hasn't slowed the iconic frontman's prolific output. He's been putting out solo albums since the early '90s, and now, he's gearing up for LP No. 11. Entitled Sonik Kicks, it's due out March 27 via Yep Roc Records.

An announcement on Weller's website reveals that the album features contributions from Noel Gallagher and Blur's Graham Coxon. It also apparently finds the songwriter "once again shaking up his palate and stirring his influences anew, mixing pop art punch with soulful communication, jazzy explorations into psychedelia and dub with razor-sharp melodies, abstract soundscapes with clear-eyed forest folk."

Sonik Kicks will be available in standard CD and vinyl versions, plus a hardcover book edition that comes with a DVD. Get pre-order information here.

If you need a little added incentive to buy a copy, scroll past the 14-song tracklist to stream the hard-hitting "Around the Lake." The accompanying video is a sequence from a short film 24hrs, Pavey Park, which Weller is a fan of.
