Paul McCartney and Third Man Records Release Mini-Documentary 'McCartney/333'

The short details the pressing process for the limited-edition run on McCartney's 'III'

Third Man Records and Paul McCartney have shared a mini-doc about the process of creating 333, an extra-limited edition of the ex-Beatle's 2020 album III.

As the doc explains, McCartney's yellow-and-black TMR edition of III was made from melted-down recycled vinyl copies of 1970's McCartney and 1980's McCartney II, for a total of just 333 copies — hence the special edition's moniker.

While there are no interview appearances by the musician or TMR honcho Jack White (though it is interspersed with plenty of black-and-white studio shots of Paul), the film does present an interesting look inside the pressing facility and the processes that go into making special edition releases such as 333.

The short features interviews with Third Man Records employees, including co-founder Ben Swank, as well as Rolling Stone journalist Rob Sheffield.
