Patti Smith Promotes Toronto Photography Exhibition with Shows at Art Gallery of Ontario

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 17, 2013

In the coming months, Patti Smith's photography will be on display at Toronto's Art Gallery of Ontario. Even better, though, the punk poet herself will be coming to the gallery for a pair of performances in March.

The exhibition, called Camera Solo, opens on February 9. Almost a month later, on March 7, Smith will swing by for a pair of back-to-back performances on the same night; the first show is at 7:30 in the evening and the second is at 9:45.

For the performances, she will be backed by her daughter, Jesse Paris Smith and Tony Shanahan. Admission is $15 for the public and $13 for gallery members. See Patti's full live schedule below.

Camera Solo features around 70 black and white photo prints, which appear alongside personal objects, and a Smith-directed film called Equation Daumal. It runs until May 19. Read about the exhibition and see some of the photographs at the AGO's website.
