This week has, like so many other weeks before it, been filled with extreme highs and lows. Amidst the chaos, however, we've all found time to laugh at disgraced Papa John's founder John Schnatter, who gave his bizarre first interview since being fired from the company he founded for saying a racial slur in a business meeting. In fact, his prose was so strange that it works perfectly as Godspeed You! Black Emperor narration.
Speaking with the Kentucky station WDRB, the embattled Papa forewarned that a "day of reckoning" is coming to the other fast-food magnates who ousted him from the board. He also, strangely, said that he's eaten 40 pizzas in the last 30 days.
It's a very strange and hilarious interview, compounded by the fact that Papa John looks soaking wet throughout the whole thing. But it's also just terrifying enough that it works as a great Godspeed spoken word track.
