Post-grunge, post-rock Our Lady Peace — bedrock of the Canadian shield — want you to stop making stupid people famous in the new music video for their latest single with Russian rabble-rousers Pussy Riot. They're proposing some changes to the fame game.

First and foremost: out with influencers, in with activists. In the video, OLP highlight the achievements of young leaders with magazine covers featuring the likes of teen climate activist Sophia Mathur, mental health activist Kenidra Woods, Saudi Arbian piano prodigy Eman Gusti and future Mars astronaut Alyssa Carson.

What's more, the band have introduced the Future Famous initiative to recognize people doing exceptional things in various fields with the potential to make a real difference in the world.

Frontman Raine Maida said in a statement: "There are so many amazing people who are truly changing the world that no one has ever heard of. They deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments — those are the people who should be famous."

Watch the colourful dance party in the name of humanity unfold in the video for "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" below.

The track will appear on Our Lady Peace's new album Spiritual Machines 2, though the details of that album have yet to be revealed.
