Ottawa Explosion Weekend, Dog Day's Hiatus Clarification and Menzingers on Their 'Rented World' in Our News Roundup

With another week in the bag, it's time to take a quick look back at what went down this week. So if you're looking to get back up to speed, come dig into our news roundup.

First up, there were several more big Canadian festival announcements this week. Not only did we get the lineup for the Ottawa Explosion Weekend, but we got lineup expansions from the Toronto Urban Roots Festival and Canadian Music Week.

In other Canadian news, Fucked Up detailed their Glass Boys album, Dog Day clarified their hiatus situation and Matthew Barber revealed his Big Romance.

Also this week, we had Menzingers telling us all about their Rented World, Mogwai revealing plans to unearth a scrapped '90s album for a deluxe reissue of Come on Die Young, Melvins' Buzz Osborne announcing an acoustic solo album and Iggy Pop addressing the future of the Stooges following the death of Scott Asheton.

Finally, it was another good week for vinyl soundtrack nerds, as we got news of reissues of the original Tron soundtrack and for classic Japanese anime film Akria.
