Orbital to Release Soundtrack for Remake of Nicolas Winding Refn's 'Pusher'

Best known for his work on Drive, filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn has a solid resume of other films worth checking out. Among them is Pusher, which will likely gain in popularity with an upcoming English language remake. And like Drive before it, the soundtrack will be full of forward-thinking electronic music.

This time, the soundtrack comes courtesy of legendary British electro duo Orbital. In a press release, the group's Paul Hartnoll explains, "Working on Pusher was a great opportunity to create a score that draws on both moody thriller styles and dance music in equal measures. Full of anthemic film noir moments. Brilliant."

The remake of Pusher, which originally was the first of a trio of films, was directed by Luis Prieto, with Refn taking on the role of executive producer. The film stars Agyness Deyn, Richard Cole, Bronson Webb and Paul Kaye, and tells the story of a British drug pusher whose life spirals out of control.

A trailer for the film is available below. The Pusher soundtrack will be available on October 8 on CD, vinyl or as a digital download via Silva Screen Records.

As recently reported, Orbital will be returning to North America for a tour this month. You can see all the dates here.
