Oneohtrix Point Never

"I Only Have Eyes for You"

Washington, DC's Hirshhorn Museum is currently host to Doug Aitken's multimedia art project SONG 1, which features visuals accompanied by audio of various artists covering the classic doo-wop tune "I Only Have Eyes for You," popularized by the Flamingos in 1959. Now, Oneohtrix Point Never's cover has hit the web.

As you might except from sound architect Daniel Lopatin, his cover is anything but traditional, as it consists largely of droning synth chords with a few warped vocal samples flickering overtop. It's probably not what Harry Warren and Al Dubin had in mind when they penned the tune back in the 1930s, but it's pretty beautiful all the same.

Take a listen below, and learn more about SONG 1 here. Other covers come from artists like Beck, CFCF, James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), Devendra Banhart, High Places, No Age and more.
