Once a Tree Stand Up Against Bullying in New Song and Video "Worth"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 29, 2019

Toronto-based duo Once a Tree have unveiled a new video for their latest single "Worth."

Comprising Jayli and Hayden Wolf, the two-piece confront the effects that peer pressure and social media can have on self-image. Both the song and video are powerful statements against bullying.

The video follows a young girl who resembles a monster. She feels isolated and alone at home, and gets bullied at school and on social media.

At the end of the clip, however, we realize that she's not a monster after all — it's all just been a visual representation of her own negative self-image.

The video was filmed in southeastern British Columbia on Kootenay Band Territory, and it features First Nations youth from Yaqan Nukiy School.
