Old Towns

"Over Again"

Robbie Shirriff makes music under the moniker of Old Towns, and the Edmonton-based singer-songwriter is set to drop a new split EP titled Breakfast at Bon's with Bryan Michael next month. Before the joint effort arrives, though, you can hear "Over Again" from the upcoming release.

Staying within his realm of whiskey-soaked, punk-spirited folk music, Shirriff describes the upcoming EP as "a folk/bluegrass split brought together through $2.95 breakfast, self-serve coffee, discount microphone rentals, and raiding liquor cabinets."

The new material was written with Michael over the course of four rainy December days in Vancouver, and the musicians drew inspiration from feelings of familiar comfort. "Breakfast at Bon's provides that same comfort and satisfaction as sitting down at your favourite all day breakfast joint to chase away the whiskey hangover," he explained in a statement.

You can capture that feeling by giving new song "Over Again" a spin in the player below before the split EP officially arrives on May 18.

Old Towns has a series of upcoming Canadian live dates, including a stop at the upcoming Pouzzafest in Montreal. You can see all the dates here.
