Antigonish, NS's Evolve Festival may have been named the Best Music Festival in Canada, but organizer Jonas Colter had a rough time at 2010 instalment of the event. He got arrested and fined $4,500 for postering Halifax, and even considered relocating the festival to Moncton, NB.

Well, Evolve has announced the details of its 2011 edition, and it's staying put in Antigonish. The festival will go down from July 22 to 24 and will include performances from a diverse range of artists including Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Chali 2na, Pretty Lights, Man Man, Idlers, and, uh, children's entertainer Fred Penner. The full lineup is still forthcoming, but you can read a slightly longer list here.

Tickets are on sale now from Ticketpro or at the retailers listed here. Early bird tickets will cost $135, while regular pre-purchases are $145. If you buy a pass at the gate on opening night, it will cost you $170. As an extra bonus, Evolve promises to plant a tree for every ticket sold.
