Noel Gallagher Responds to Liam's Lawsuit, Says He's Sorry

Following news that Liam Gallagher was suing his older brother and former bandmate Noel for alleging he broke up Oasis because of a hangover, the elder sibling has now gone online to say he's sorry.

In an online chat with fans, which you can see here courtesy of NME, Noel revealed that he has indeed been sued by his little brother but was hoping he could set the record straight for the public. Turns out Noel may have embellished on the reasons behind the troupe's V Festival cancellation in 2009. Liam was, in fact, feeling ill.

"Unfortunately there is truth in it," Noel said of the lawsuit, before addressing the V Fest incident. "But you know, for the record, it is a fact that he was diagnosed with laryngitis and it is a fact that he had a doctor's note to prove it."

While after nearly 20 years of public spats have kept the Gallagher bros in the press, Noel sounds as if he feels his brother has gone too far by bringing the law into their constant quibbles. Perhaps to curb the possibility of a court date, Noel is offering his, uh, sincerest apologies.

"I'd just like to say, though, if he gets offended by my opinions on such things then you know I apologize but it's all getting very silly and a little bit out of hand and it's not very cool," Noel said. "But there you go."

Liam has yet to respond, but he did get the apology he was looking for. Really, though, it's just a matter of moments before they're back at each other's throats.
