Noel Gallagher Attacked By Stage Invader During V-Fest

This past weekend's Virgin Festival in Toronto ran into an unexpected snag when a stage invader interrupted Oasis's closing set. Called a "security breach" by the festival organizers, an unidentified man ran on stage and knocked over guitarist Noel Gallagher during the band's performance of "Morning Glory." As he attempted to have a go at front-man Liam Gallagher, the intruder was tackled and removed by security, followed closely by Liam, who looked a little irked and out for some revenge in honour of his big brother.

The National Post reports that no reason was given for the man's actions and that both Gallaghers were fine. In fact, Noel was heard making light of the event, "joking backstage after the incident about how exciting things always happens when Oasis plays."

The band returned to the stage after 15 minutes to finish their set, ending with their live staple, a cover of the Beatles' "I Am the Walrus."

Thankfully, there's YouTube footage of the incident, which you can see below. The "shove heard 'round the world" comes in at the 1:30 mark.
