Nite Jewel Unveils 'Real High' LP, Shares New Video

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Mar 21, 2017

While Nite Jewel released Liquid Cool barely a year ago, the electro-geared songwriter is already returning with a new album. Titled Real High, the album will arrive May 5 via Gloriette Records.

The album marks the fourth from Ramona Gonzalez's Nite Jewel project. It was recorded over the course of four years in L.A. with Cole M.G.N.

According to a press release, "With Real High, Ramona Gonzalez updates this feminine inner dialogue to reflect the increasing challenges of hyper-modern society, in particular with respect to selfhood. Within our current climate of heightened self-awareness, we become inhibited in our ability to truly lose ourselves to another person. This album offers one perspective on how it is to be vulnerable in these moments of tension."

For a taste of that, Nite Jewel has shared a new video for album track "2 Good 2 Be True." It was directed by Geneva Jacuzzi, who said this of the video: "Those dance sequences were a blast to film. Ramona, dancing her ASS OFF for hours... Christina [Acevedo] on camera, cracking up... and me, jumping and flailing around the room shouting out inspirato like... 'Now we're at the Prince Party!.. Erotic City! Dance Dance!!'"
