Oakland-based "doo-wop garage rock" unit Night School have teamed up with Irish four-piece Dott for a Record Store Day release, but before the split 12-inch hits shelves on Saturday (April 18), Exclaim! is streaming one of Night School's contributions.
The limited-edition vinyl release comes with all of the tracks on the A-side and a special etching appearing on the B-side. Night School's songs were recorded with Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden in their California hometown.
"Black and Blue" closes out the four-song collection and is a blend of dreamy vocals and jangly guitars, backed by steadily rolling percussion.
