"Eleven Times" (video)

The 2014 deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner at the hands of police officers continue to inspire pieces of art, the most recent of which is "Eleven Times," a song and video by Nicolas Jaar and renowned Gil Scott-Heron collaborator Brian Jackson.

The title of "Eleven Times" refers to the number of times Garner repeated "I can't breathe" before dying in a police officer's chokehold. The song is a minimal electro-soul ballad, while the accompanying video shows footage from protests along with shots of various black men who have been unjustly stopped by police officers.

It was directed by Samantha Casolari. Watch it below [via Nowness].
