Welcome to this week's Can't Miss Concerts. As usual, each Thursday we'll be picking your best bets for gigging in the cities of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, with the dreams, hopes and intentions of extending our coverage to other concert-going cities and towns across Canada. This week we've actually added Calgary into the mix, which is just a taste of what's to come down the road. So, if you're in any of those three cities this weekend, take us up on our suggestions and see if we're right. This week we have a Record Store Day battle royale in Toronto, Gob rockin' their hometown and the lovely Neko Case in Montreal.

Mr. Lif will no doubt preview his brand new album, I Heard It Today, for a night of politically peppered hip-hop.

In case you weren't aware, tonight's Robyn Hitchcock show was cancelled. Doesn't matter though, because I'd say the best bet always was this noise-stacked triple-header, highlighted by the sludgy goodness of Toronto's METZ.

Ray Price
Black Feelings
$10 at Lee's Palace
Friday, April 17
Tough night, as there's a lot to choose from. But I'd say go with Mark Sultan's (aka BBQ) righteous show, which comes with up-and-comers Box Elders, some friends of Jay Reatard's, who I championed last year.
BBQ
Box Elders
Pirate/Rock
City Sweethearts
$10 at Rancho Relaxo
