Neil Young Reportedly Holding Free Outdoor Concert in Toronto at This Year's TIFF

As we reported last week, Neil Young is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival. During next month's event, running September 10 to 19, the Canadian rock icon is making an appearance in support of director Jonathan Demme's new concert film, The Neil Young Trunk Show. And while initial reports hinted that Young may play a tune or two during the fest, it appears as if he may be doing a whole lot more.

As TwentyFourBit has pointed out, the Toronto Star published an article on TIFF Thursday (August 20) and buried way off to the side in a photo caption came this awesome bit of info: "Neil Young, bottom right, will be giving a free outdoor concert as part of a more 'user-friendly' initiative."

Now, this could be simply be some slip-up over at the Star but, like a lot of people, we're hoping it's not.

So far no specifics have been revealed about the supposedly free Neil Young concert, such as when and where it will take place. But considering Young and Demme are hosting a free TIFF screening of The Neil Young Trunk Show on September 14 in the city's Yonge-Dudas Square downtown, we're placing our bets that the concert may go down then.
