Neil Young Flip-Flops and Brings His Music Back to Streaming Services with "Peace Trail"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Nov 4, 2016

Neil Young removed his music from streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music last year, condemning the terrible quality of sound they offer and opting instead to focus his efforts on promoting his hi-def digital music player Pono.

As of today (November 4), though, Young's catalogue has reappeared on both Spotify and Apple Music. It has been available through Tidal since May of this year.

At the time he removed his music, Young criticized the low quality of sound provided by the streaming services, though he also added: "Make streaming sound good and I will be back."

Those hoping to test out any changes in sound quality can do so by listening to Young's latest single "Peace Trail" via Spotify below.

The song comes from the Canadian singer-songwriter's upcoming "primarily acoustic" album of the same name. While originally slated for a December 2 release, Peace Trail is now out on December 9 through Reprise.
