We Got Ned Flanders-Themed Metalcore Band Okilly Dokilly to Rank Their Favourite 'Simpsons' Episodes

"Howdilly Doodilly neighbourinos! Picking just five top episodes of 'The Simpsons' was a doozy, but I tried my diddly-dang darndest," says vocalist Head Ned

Not even Matt Groening could have foretold the advent of Okilly Dokilly. The metalcore band — or, as they call it, Nedal — comprises five members dressed like the Simpsons' do-gooder neighbour Ned Flanders.

The show is famous for predicting events before fruition: most recently COVID-19 and murder hornets within the course of one 17-second clip. The trend even resulted in a Disney+ playlist of their clairvoyance comedy.

We asked vocalist Head Ned for his favourite episodes. After all, he's the one who has to turn the goings-on of Springfield into lyrics. None of his picks have yet to predict the future, but who knows what the future will hold.

He says, "Howdilly Doodilly neighbourinos! Picking just five top episodes of The Simpsons was a doozy, but I tried my diddly-dang darndest."

"El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)"
Season 8, Episode 9

There are lots of reasons I picked this one. Smithers' outfit. Ned's five alarm (well, two... 2.5 tops) chili. The initial scenes when Homer's mind starts to melt. The main reason, though, is Johnny Cash as the Space Coyote. That's one of my favorite one-episode characters ever. I often hear the line in my head, "No, if anything you need more possessions!"

"Little Big Mom"
Season 10, Episode 11

It's a really great episode, but I mainly included this one because it gave the world the line "stupid sexy Flanders!"

"Bart's Inner Child"
Season 5, Episode 7

I chose this episode because it has my favorite first three minutes of any Simpsons episode. Homer reading the paper and shouting "Tramapoline! Trambopaline!" Marge shouting at Homer to not bring home any more used crutches. Homer side-swiping a car pulling out of the driveway because he thinks they're going for the trampoline too. The whole thing is gold.

"You Only Move Twice"
Season 8, Episode 2

The Hank Scorpio episode. It's truly one of the best.

"Hurricane Neddy"
Season 8, Episode 8

This is my all-time favourite episode and a major source for Ned quotes. Ned ranting at the town then checking himself into a mental hospital is such good stuff. It's also the episode where we learn that Ned hates the post office. And his parents.
