The National's Bryce Dessner Recruits Sufjan Stevens and My Brightest Diamond for New Clogs LP

The rumour of a new album from the National has been buzzing around for over a year now, although it was certainly sidetracked by the band's major involvement with the charitable Dark Was the Night comp. And while we're still not able to offer any info on a proper follow-up to the band's 2007 opus, Boxer, we can tell you that guitarist Bryce Dessner has prepared a promising-looking new album from his other band, Clogs.

The experimental chamber folk quartet, rounded out by Rachael Elliot, Thomas Kozumplik and Padma Newsome, have readied their fifth long-player. Titled The Creatures in the Garden of Lady Walton, the album includes guest spots from an impressive roster of musicians, including Sufjan Stevens, Osso, My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden and Dessner's National band-mates Matt Berninger and Aaron Dessner (also Bryce's twin brother).

Leading up to the album, the band will drop the Veil Waltz EP on January 26. Then, the full album will be out on March 2. Both releases will come via Brassland.
