Def Jam doesn't issue Nas's new album Life Is Good until July 17, but we've been treated to a few early singles. One of them is the vicious boom-bap banger "The Don," featuring production work from No I.D. You can now experience the song in a whole new way via a remix by trip-hop icons Massive Attack.
The English outfit's take on the tune adds quite a bit of melody, with a sublime synth lines rippling throughout the six-and-a-half-minute redo. The group also add some thick and busy percussive clacks mid-song. Esco's New York-centric lyrics, meanwhile, continue to bounce between toasting Heavy D and explaining why he's the Don Dada.
