This week rumours have been circulating that on top of the same old "new album soon" rubbish promises, My Bloody Valentine are a big "maybe" for headlining Coachella in April 2008. While the manager of MBV main man Kevin Shields cannot confirm whether this is indeed true (god, please let it be), according to fan site MyBloodyValentine.net, Shields is currently in a studio not only remastering the MBV back catalogue (not sure if it's actually everything - This Is Your Bloody Valentine? Sunny Sundae Smile? Strawberry Wine?), but also the rest of Creation's releases. Okay, that raises many red flags.
However, considering Coachella has successfully resurrected acts like Kraftwerk, Bauhaus and most recently, the Jesus & Mary Chain and Rage Against the Machine, anything's possible. The fact that just recently an "official" MBV MySpace page appeared out of thin air only makes all of the rumours that much juicier.
