Two years on from releasing their Occult Architecture diptych, Moon Duo have lifted the curtain on a follow-up effort.

Titled Stars Are the Light, the latest full-length from Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada arrives September 27 through Sacred Bones. Eight tracks in length, the album was mixed in Portugal by Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom.

Working with elements '70s funk and '90s rave, Stars Are the Light's eight tracks are said to explore "embodied human experience — love, change, misunderstanding, internal struggle, joy, misery, alienation, discord, harmony, celebration — rendered as a kind of dance of the self, both in relation to other selves and to the eternal dance of the cosmos."

A first listen arrives with the album's title track, which can be heard below. Moon Duo have also mapped out a world headlining tour, which they'll kick off in October.

Three Canadian dates have been included on the run. The duo will play Montreal's Société des arts technologiques (SAT) on November 16 before heading to Toronto's Longboat Hall on November 18. They'll wrap up the tour at Vancouver's Hollywood Theatre on November 27.
