Montreal's Allen McEachern To Begin Year-Long Concert Photo Documentary

BY Cam LindsayPublished Apr 17, 2009

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and if that's true photographer Allen McEachern is set to bank enough words to rival Encyclopedia Britannica come this time next year. The Montreal-based photographer has informed us that beginning in May he will embark on a project that will document Montreal's concert scene over the next year.

Set to attend three to five shows a week, McEachern says, "The focus is on live music performance, the venues, the fans, promoters, the bands, festivals and all the characters that constitute Montreal's music community, both transient and resident. The hope is that Resonance will father a community of interest for the local musicians of Montreal, as well as for those that pass through town; to link a community of fans to a collection of performance images from local venues; to broadcast notice of upcoming shows; and to build a community around Montreal music."

In order to achieve this, McEachern is in search of a "French writer who enjoys various forms of music and is interested in offering supporting text for the photography of this documentary." The position is unpaid but just think of all the shows you'd get into free of charge. If you're interested you can email Allen at am@allenmceachern.ca.
