Hard rocking Hamilton outfit Monster Truck announced their sophomore LP back in November, and while Sittin' Heavy is set to drop worldwide on February 19, the band are streaming the roaring new effort a week ahead of schedule.
Recorded with Eric Ratz (Billy Talent, Cancer Bats) between Toronto's Vespa Studios, Revolution Recording and Monster Truck's own jam-space studio, the new 11-track album finds the band employing a few tips and tricks they picked up from touring with rock music giants.
"Touring the last record we've been privileged to play with a lot of great headlining acts," guitarist Jeremy Widerman said in a statement. "For instance, when we opened for Slash we would pick up on how accurately he controls the wah pedal, and we wanted to include some of that in our own songs. Or touring with Alice in Chains and watching their vocal harmonies and realizing that we needed to strengthen up in that area — so we did. There are so many little ways to hone our sound."
