Electronic supergroup Moderat is back with a third full-length collaboration, which they'll promote this spring on a world tour. The record has been given the most fitting title of III, and it hits retailers April 1 via Mute/Monkeytown.
A press release notes that the album, Moderat's first since 2013's II, finds the unit's Gernot Bronsert, Sebastian Szary (a.k.a. Modeselektor) and Sascha Ring (a.k.a. Apparat) "creating dynamic sound and depth with sophisticated lyrics and themes as they direct their gaze inward." It's apparently a personal set, with Apparat "discussing his shadow, his fears and doubts" on the collection.
It's further added that while the trio of musicians met up through Berlin's rave scene, III displays Moderat's "maturation in modern pop." Full song streams have yet to be revealed behind the nine-song LP, but a quick trailer behind the project can be found below.
As for the band's upcoming live dates, the tour begins a couple days before III hits stores over in Europe, with North American dates to follow in May. That portion of the trek includes Canadian stops in Montreal and Vancouver.
A full show schedule can be found beneath the album info.
