Mitski Signs to Dead Oceans for New Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 22, 2015

After impressing many with her 2014 full-length Bury Me at Makeout Creek, Brooklyn-based artist Mitski will resurface in 2016 with a follow-up for new label home Dead Oceans.

Not much has been revealed thus far, but the imprint confirmed today (December 22) that it has connected with Mitski for a forthcoming album release. In addition to praising its latest signee for her "profoundly reflective lyrics," it's expected that Mitski will "continue delivering her particular flavour of soul-baring rock on Dead Oceans." The album is expected to land later next year.

Mitski's eclectic Bury Me at Makeout Creek first landed on vinyl in 2014 via Double Double Whammy, but Don Giovanni added four live tracks to an expended re-release this past spring.
