Mission of Burma Sign to Fire Records for 'Unsound'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 26, 2012

Mission of Burma haven't issued a full-length since 2009's The Sound the Speed of Light, but the long-running Boston post-punk act have announced their return with not only a new disc, but a new label to release it.

While the Massachusetts outfit issued their last few LPs through Matador, Mission of Burma are linking up with Fire Records for Unsound, which arrives on July 9 in the UK.

Not much is known about the album just yet, but the label explained on their site that Mission of Burma's upcoming platter "promises to be their most ambitious, progressive and vibrant recording yet." You can check out new track "Dust Devil," which posits dance-rock beats and a punchy double-time pop punk chorus, down below.

The group are also playing a handful of dates in Missouri in April, and will play the Territorios Sevilla festival in Spain in May. You can see those details down below.

Tour dates:

4/4 St. Louis, MO - Firebird

4/5 Columbia, MO - Mojo's

4/6 Kansas City, MO - Middle of the Map Festival

5/18 Sevilla, Spain - Territorios Sevilla 2012
