Mikey Manville Unveils 'Nocturne Only,' Premieres "Indiana" Video

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Oct 19, 2016

Recognized for fronting rock'n'roll power trio the Manvils, Mikey Manville is set to explore a more introspective side of his musical soul with a new solo record early next year. Titled Nocturne Only, the record is set to arrive early in January.

Boasting 10 tracks that hold compelling stories, Nocturne Only was recorded in Chicago by John Akred. The introspective side of Manville will come to the forefront with the help of a supporting cast of musicians that includes drummer Scott Moore (Mezodigm), Bob Egan (Wilco), Ryan Dahle (Mounties/Limblifter), Megan Bradfield (Limblifter) and Pat Steward (Odds/Brian Adams).

Along with the album announcement, Manville has shared a video for album cut "Indiana," which cuts together old footage of what appear to be some hilarious Halloween costumes and a young Manville rocking out on a tennis racket as if it were a guitar.

Nocturne Only is set to arrive on January 7. Pre-orders for a limited-edition 180-gram, 45 RPM vinyl edition and digital downloads are available here. Right now, though, both "Indiana" and "Beneath the Leaves" are out as a digital single, and you can pick those up here.

To round out 2016, the Manvils have two shows in Toronto lined up for the month of December, playing the Silver Dollar Room on December 1 and the Horseshoe Tavern on December 29.
