Michael Jacket

"Weird Paradise"

Toronto-based drummer Jarod Gibson has garnered acclaim for keeping the beat in bands like Odonis Odonis and Thighs, but he also delivers dark electronic dance music under the solo moniker Michael Jacket. The project has been dormant since the release of 2013's Cruelty, but he's bringing it back with a vengeance on the new track "Weird Paradise."

The single is slated to drop as the first release from Gibson's own label Digital, and will apparently mark the beginning of a steady flow of new releases deep into next year. The artist — and now, label runner — describes "Weird Paradise" as post-EDM techno that delivers "late night vibes to move your body." Also, to get you into the spooky spirit, Michael Jacket has given us a Halloween-appropriate video for the track, which you can check out below as well.
