Nominations for the UKs15th annual Nationwide Mercury Prize include Arctic Monkeys, Hot Chip, Thom Yorke, Richard Hawley, Editors, Guillemots, Muse, Scritti Politti, Zoe Rahman, Sway, Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan (whos American!) and Lou Rhodes. The award for the best British album of the past 12 months and a big fat ₤20,000 cheque will be handed out in London on September 5. Bookies have given the edge to Arctic Monkeys and Yorke at 5-1 odds.
