Once again, that time of year has rolled around when British music shines a light on its finest with the annual and much-coveted Mercury Prize.

Chosen by a panel of British music critics and industry figures, the initial shortlist this year includes such artists as David Bowie, Radiohead, Skepta, the 1975, Savages and Bat for Lashes.

You can see the full list at the bottom of the page.
