Megadeth Announce 'Super Collider' LP on Dave Mustaine's New Tradecraft Imprint

It's been about a year and a half since Big Four titans Megadeth delivered their appropriately titled 13th LP, TH1RT3EN, but the ever-busy metal vets are getting set to deliver the follow-up. Mercifully, it's not titled 4T33N, but instead will be dubbed Super Collider.

Press material has confirmed that the band's next offering will be their first on vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine's own Tradecraft imprint, which will be distributed by Universal Music. Megadeth had released their last few LPs via Roadrunner. Understandably, Mustaine is quite thrilled with the new partnership.

"Being with Universal is by far the most exciting and prestigious home for Megadeth ever! We are electrified with what the future holds and the possibilities such a powerhouse like Universal will bring for us all," he said in a statement, before adding his hopes to bring more metal acts to the world via Tradecraft. "If Megadeth being here isn't satiating enough, having Tradecraft as my own label is going to be really amazing for metal bands around the world."

As for Super Collider, the LP is due to arrive in June and is being recorded at Mustaine's Vic's Garage studio in San Marcos, CA. Mustaine noted that the whole band have been "feverishly contributing some great music," while longtime bassist Dave Ellefson recently wrote on Facebook that the new LP will apparently home in on the thrash unit's classic sound.

"Really some great, great songs taking shape at this point in the recording process," he wrote. "I told Dave today that one of them totally reminded me of the earliest stuff back when we first met. Fast, ripppin' and fully bringing the REAL old-school MEGADETH sound!!!"
