Whether Rick Ross' concert schedule was scrapped over organizational issues or over gang-related death threats, last week was a pretty bad one for the Bawse. The dude's on the rebound now, though, having announced a few nuggets of news regarding his Maybach Music Group.
First up, the label has just entered a new distribution deal that transfers MMG's crew from Warner Bros. over to Atlantic. The deal will affect Ross, as well as protégés Wale, Meek Mill, Omarion and Stalley. Despite Ross telling Miami's 99 Jamz [via Rap-Up ] that "It's the biggest move of the year," the shift actually bounces MMG between two Warner Music Group enterprises.
"Atlantic and Warner have a beautiful relationship, so it's nothing funny," Ross added. "It's all beautiful. It's getting bigger and bigger."
We'll be learning about a future Maybach Music Group/Atlantic venture quite soon, as Ricky Rozay is rumoured to be announcing his next studio set on New Year's Day. Not much is known about the proper follow-up to this past July's God Forgives, I Don't, but Ross explained, "That's coming summer 2013, so once again the summer is mine."
