'Matangi' Finally Gets Release Date After M.I.A. Threatens to Leak It

The threat of a Matangi leak from M.I.A. herself has compelled Interscope to fit the long-delayed LP with a November release date.

Yesterday (August 8), the rapper vented her frustration from holding onto the LP for so long, tweeting disdainfully: "If interscope takes longer i can always leak this next week and make a new one by the time they are ready."

Apparently M.I.A.'s powers of persuasion are on point, because the label has now given the LP a November 5 due date, Pitchfork reports.

As previously mentioned, M.I.A. has been talking up the LP since last year and has served up a number of sneak peeks for the set, including "Bring the Noize," "Only 1 U" and an eight-minute Matangi mix prepped for a Parisian fashion show.

Tracklisting details have yet to be delivered for Matangi, which will be the official follow-up to 2010's ///Y/.
