Last Friday (March 8), Major Lazer served up the freebie Lazer Strikes Back Vol. 2 to sate fans waiting for the long-delayed Free the Universe LP, but a sneak peek of the album proper has arrived via a radio rip of new tune "Jessica."
The roots-reggae track is a supremely chill effort featuring the falsetto vocals of Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig. Dubby drum reverb and steady guitar upticks crack throughout the romantic, apparently Jessica-appraising track, while Koenig's vocals get reworked with some helium-huffing pitch-shifting to spice up his woo game.
You can sample the BBC radio rip down below.
Free the Universe should drop April 15 via Secretly Canadian/Mad Decent/Downtown Records.
