Machine Gun Kelly Stabbed Himself While Trying to Impress Megan Fox, Thinks Cameron Crowe Is "So Punk Rock"

The rapper-turned-rocker-turned-actor said a great many things while sitting down with Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show'

It must be MGK Thursday: last night (December 1), Machine Gun Kelly appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote his forthcoming film The Last Son — while being a real wife-guy and wearing girlfriend Megan Fox's face on his shirt.

Weed personified discussed bruising his coccyx after falling on SNL, his relationship with renowned director Cameron Crowe, stabbing himself while trying to impress Fox and Pete Davidson's method acting.

On the show, he was introduced as Colson Baker. Of course, we knew Machine Gun Kelly wasn't the name bestowed upon him at birth, but this is jarring and a lot to process.

Apparently, Crowe was actually the one who re-introduced MGK to his real name while they were filming the HBO series Roadies together.

"I had a parking spot and it said 'Colson,'" the musician explained to Fallon, setting the scene of a concrete sea otherwise filled with Bobs and Jimmys. "And I was like 'Man, I think I like my real name again.'"

He went on to say that, after a few recent dropped calls to the director, he sent Crowe a text saying it was "so punk rock" of him to ignore his calls. (Crowe didn't answer the text either — and scrapped Neil Young's cameo in Almost Famous, so he's pretty punk rock indeed.)

Speaking of punk rock, the Tickets to My Downfall auteur also shared an anecdote from right when he and Fox first became pop culture's most insufferable couple: after winning a ping-pong game against Post Malone, he tried to impress her by throwing a knife — a gift from Travis Barker, naturally — and catching it. Except it stabbed him in the hand instead.

"The next morning, as soon as she left, I was like 'Yo, I need stitches real quick,'" MGK said, miming a phone call that hopefully didn't get ignored this time.

Now, if you didn't know about the rapper-turned-rocker's acting career, don't beat yourself up too much; neither did we. Releasing December 10, Tim Sutton-directed feature film The Last Son features the artist getting to live Fallon's personal dream and kick open a saloon door, bleached hair and all.

In the movie, Kelly (er, Baker?) plays the son of a cursed outlaw who hunts down his offspring to prevent his own murder, which the artist likens to the story of Cronus from Greek mythology.

"So he goes and he kills all of his kids, and I'm the last one that he has to kill," MGK explained. Okay, final girl.
