Undisputed king of saying things and doing stuff, Machine Gun Kelly has announced a new nail polish line for introverts (and potentially aliens) called UN/DN LAQR.
Kelly is known for his painted nails (and dating Megan Fox, and also kinda his music) so it makes sense that he'd get into the polish game. The line will consist of ten shades, ranging from a black called Depressionist, a reddish-orange called 25 to Life that was named by Fox, and a dark green called Mary Jane, because weed.
The polishes all come with a thick and allegedly easy-to-use brush, and Kelly's explanation of the beauty line is actually pretty sweet and unsurprisingly spacey.
"I'm not expecting people to be nail artists, right? I want it to be accessible," the rapper told Allure, saying that the brand is meant for everyone, regardless of identity or skill level. "I mean, I'm hoping aliens, at some point when they reveal themselves, are fully immersed in the UN/DN stuff."
"A lot of my music was for the introverts, for the people scared to be vulnerable. I know that a lot of people don't have the external courage to start conversations with people. I'm like that — I'm super shy when it comes to starting conversations," he continued. "When I went and got coffee, one of the first times when I actually had my nails done, I went to the counter and the guy was like, 'Wow, your nails are so beautiful.' It makes you want to be open to the conversation."
He added: "You spend time taking care of yourself and paying attention to a detail and then somebody else appreciates that detail. (It's) for sure a social connection."
Kelly goes on to say that UN/DR LAQR will be the "Willy Wonka of what beauty is to become." So, stick around to find out whatever the hell that means.
