Mac DeMarco Returns with Annual Christmas Cover

Hear his take on "I'll Be Home for Christmas," since you will be too

A man of tradition, Mac DeMarco is back with another rendition of a Christmas tune in honour of the season: his laidback version of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" — originally recorded by Bing Crosby in 1943 — has officially arrived under the tree.

And we mean that pretty literally, since the music video for his version stars none other than an inflatable Christmas tree. The tree wanders about town, looking for a place to call home and undoubtedly freaking out the neighbourhood.

DeMarco's holiday message to the people is simple: "I Hope [sic] your holiday season is full of love and tree [sic]." (It feels like altering the lyric to "I'll be home for Christmas / If only in my trees," was a bit of a missed opportunity, but okay.)
