Mac DeMarco Emerges from the Ether to Deliver an "Italian American Gangster Rap" Song with Kenny Beats

The duo make cured meat-themed tunes while smoking cigars and throwing cash

Mac DeMarco has surfaced from obscurity to drop a goofy new track on Kenny Beats' YouTube series The Cave. During the recent Season 3 episode, the pair trade off jokes, cigars and musical tricks for a new Godfather: Part II-themed song mostly about the different kinds of pasta.

"I am 25 percent Italian," DeMarco begins. "People talk a lot about 'gangster rap.' A lot of Italian Americans in the movies are gangsters. How come there's no Italian American gangster rap?"

The resulting collaboration is a truly strange exploration of the limits of AutoTune and types of Italian food/stereotypes.

"Italiano, baby / From the Jersey Shore to Milano, baby," Mac croons at one point.
