Understandably, with Lykke Li's Wounded Rhymes just over a month shy of its proper release, the Swedish singer's press team have been flooding the market to promote the new disc. Last week, we got an oddly erotic commercial for the album, and this week we have a remix of the previously previewed "I Follow Rivers" from TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek.
The producer's redo juices up the tune tenfold, replacing the airy, ethereal vibe of the original with a pumped-up brass section and early '90s club beat. Just about the only thing Sitek stripped away from the tune is those out-of-left-field steel-drum fills that spiked "I Follow Rivers" 1.0. The end of the tune swaps out the big-band vibe for a series of electro squelches that stretch Li's coos into the electro abyss.
