When they're not the backing band for Neil Young or Jackson Maine, Willie Nelson's son Lukas Nelson and his band Promise of the Real maintain a pretty solid career of their own. And they're set to return with another new LP.
The new album is called A Few Stars Apart and will arrive on June 11 via Fantasy/Universal Music Canada.
The band have previewed the album with a stream of the new single "Leave 'em Behind," which Nelson explains comes from a particularly heavy place.
"Leave 'Em Behind is one of my favourite tracks on the album," he said in a statement. "I wrote it about a friend who was in an abusive relationship…and as we saw the domestic abuse numbers climb during the pandemic, I was moved to write this song."
