Lorde Accuses Kanye West and Kid Cudi of Stealing Her Stage Design

"Don't steal — not from women or anyone else — not in 2018 or ever"

Like Trent Reznor before her, Lorde is questioning the originality of Kanye West's stage design following the live debut of his Kids See Ghosts project with Kid Cudi.

Last night (November 11), West and KSG groupmate Cudi closed out Tyler, the Creator's annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, performing the weekend's final set from inside a glass box suspended in the air.

As clips of the duo's performance spread around social media today, Lorde noticed some striking similarities to a recent stage design of her own.

She then shared her findings in an Instagram story, writing, "I'm proud of the work I do, and it's flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves. But don't steal — not from women or anyone else — not in 2018 or ever."

Neither West nor Kid Cudi has commented on the similarity publicly, though the former has since shared more sub-par Rick & Morty illustrations. In case you hadn't heard, West recently decided to put politics on that backburner.
