Long Blondes Guitarist/Songwriter Suffers Stroke
Published Jul 02, 2008Sheffield glam pop act the Long Blondes suffered a major setback when their guitarist and majority songwriter Dorian Cox was admitted to a hospital on June 9 in "serious condition" after suffering a stroke.
The band were forced to cancel their appearance at this past weekend's Glastonbury Festival, as well as a full international tour and support slots opening up for Duran Duran in London and Birmingham.
The remaining members of the band issued a statement updating fans on the 25-year-old Cox's status: "Dorian is improving slowly and we will keep you updated on his condition. If you would like to leave a message on MySpace, Facebook, or through the website, we would be glad to pass them on to him when we visit."
According to the Yorkshire Post, the guitarist has lost movement in some parts of his body.
