Loney Dear Preps New Album, Loses Comma

After a brief stint at Sub Pop, Sweden’s Loney Dear is jumping ship and heading to Polyvinyl. The Illinois label has announced it will handle the Swede’s next album Dear John, which follows the Exclaim!-approved Loney, Noir and Sologne, as well as multiple CD-R releases.

The project’s Emil Svanängen is expected to launch a U.S. tour early next year in support of the new album, which drops January 27, and if we’re lucky he’ll head up north for a few Canadian dates as well. In the meantime, Svanängen is sticking to Europe and has only announced a pair of shows in New York.

And yes, according to Pitchfork, Loney Dear has indeed lost the comma. However, those guys have been wrong about these kinds of things before. For now, though, we’re taking their word for it.

Here is the tracklisting to Dear John, followed by Loney Dear’s upcoming tour dates.

2. "Everything Turns to You”
