While the name Zeus conjures up images of thunderbolts and Mount Olympus, the Toronto indie rockers of the same name aren't nearly as burly, nor is their sound. Having backed their something of a cool uncle Jason Collett and released their debut EP Sounds Like Zeus last year, Zeus are ready to make some headlines all their own with their new album, Say Us.

The album is officially out on February 23 via Arts & Crafts, but as of now, Say Us is available to stream all week here at Exclaim.ca.

As the press release points out, Say Us bears a more diversified sound than their EP, showcasing the band's "incredible ability to write smart pop hooks with jangling electric guitars, three-part harmonies and classic rock'n'roll with a touch of twang."

Opening track "How Does It Feel?" could very well be a tribute to the Kinks, but not enough to be called unoriginal. Zeus have managed to mix a lot of rock with a little bit of folk, ultimately producing a sound that's both nostalgic and refreshing. "Fever of the Time" stands out as one of the album's strongest numbers, with a thumping melody, endearing vocals and a lofty harmony cute enough to win back the girl the song was written about in the first place.

In support of the album, Zeus will set off on tour with Jason Collett and Bahamas on the Bonfire Ball Tour next month, making stops at Canadian Music Week in Toronto and later at SXSW in Austin.

Say Us will be streaming on Exclaim.ca until March 1.
