Listen to the New Album from Memphis

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 7, 2011

Torquil Campbell has been busy lately. His band Stars released the LP The Five Ghosts last year, and already in 2011, he's unveiled albums with his side-projects Dead Child Star and Memphis. The latter band, Campbell's long-running collaboration with Chris Dumont, will release the album Here Comes a City on Tuesday (March 8) via Arts & Crafts. Luckily, you won't have to wait until then to hear the whole thing, as we have it streaming right now over at Click Hear.

A press release describes the album as blending "melodic beauty and unashamed lyrical romanticism" with music and words that are frequently "dark and dense, troubled and distracted." And, of course, it features plenty of "exquisitely crafted pop songs" from the prolific Campbell.

Along with the album, Memphis have lined up several Canadian dates in Ontario and Quebec to go along with the album release. You can click here for the entire schedule.
