Lindi Ortega Announces 'Tin Star' Album, Hits Up Canada on North American Fall Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 19, 2013

Lindi Ortega has been releasing albums at a yearly pace as of late, having dropped Little Red Boots in 2011 and Cigarettes & Truckstops in 2012. This year will be no exception, since the alt-country-leaning Torontonian will drop Tin Star on October 8 through Last Gang.

The album was produced by Dave Cobb (Imaginary Cities, Shooter Jennings), and a press release notes that it was inspired by Ortega's move from Toronto to Nashville.

"It's always my goal to raise the bar with each record I put out," the songwriter said in a statement. "I have witnessed so much talent living in Nashville that has inspired me to push myself even further. I like to work with different musicians and producers to change the feel of every release. I don't want to risk making the same record over and over. Working with a new group brings a new spirit and new ideas to the music."

Considering Ortega's move to Nashville, it's only fitting that the album draws on classic country. You can hear a distinct trace of this by streaming the title track over at Paste. A live version of the song is embedded below.
